July 24, 2004 — Kansas City, Missouri — At the annual KansasFest computer convention, attended by representatives of 18 states and two countries, the Worcester-filmed DISC was screened as part of the convention’s annual Night In at the Movies.
The movie was well-received, with the variety of jokes and effectiveness of the special effects noted especially. The audience responded enthusiastically, ranking it as better than past years’ films and offering a plethora of comments afterward. “It was silly,” said Howard Katz, a city clerk and chairman from Illinois. “I greatly enjoyed it,” commented Loren Damewood, a goldsmith from St. Petersburg, Florida.
A brief tour of the film’s web site and IMDB entry followed, as did a game of “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” using actors from DISC.
